Youth Speaker for "Youth Soar Banquet"

Russell Blair, age 15, speech was heard by more than a hundred guest who attended the October 16, 2009 "Youth Soar Banquet". His goal is to fly solo when he is age 16. Congrats!

Student logs flight hours

Kyle raised money at New Kent Airport to help pay for flight hours. On September 16, he logged his 1st flight hours after he passed the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Exam. He is on his way to flying solo.

Youth Mentors

On July 23, 2009 Adam Robinson from Youth Aeronautics Program and Anna Brown, Pilot, volunteered to speak to middle school youth at Quarterpath Rec. Center. They spoke about education, aviation and career goals. The program was hosted by Human Services.

Poetry Can Be Fun

On July 13 & 14th Samuel Billings, local spoken word poet and Founder of YAEF, volunteered to conduct a poetry workshop with students from Toano and Berkeley Middle schools. Students wrote poems and had fun recording them on CDs.

About Youth Aeronautics Aviation Program (YAEF)

YAEF Aviation Program is unique in that aviation is used as a tool to motivate youth of Williamsburg-James City County to learn science and math. All funds raised go toward funding aviation ground and flight training for local and at-risk students.

To offset our October, 2009 budget we are seeking your donation to help guide our students down scientific paths that have the potential to lead them toward life-time careers in the sciences. This will enrich our community and create growth opportunity for youth in sciences and will have a wide range of potential applications.
